Career of Evil - Robert Galbraith

The third novel in the Cormoran Strike series by Robert Galbraith. Enough said! :P Anyway, I've finally finished this book so here's my thoughts for J. K. Rowling's Roberts Galbraith's newest book in this amazing series! (might contain some spoilers)

My Thoughts:
Where shall I begin? I've read the other two books in this series and was excited to read this one knowing that I wouldn't be let down. I was right. So many things happened and I also got to know the main characters background as the story made them think back to the past about things that they had gone through. I feel like I've gotten to know them more now that I've done from the previous books. Although I got to know things from Strike's past, there was so much more, more about his mum, where he had grown up, his stepfather and his special friendship with Shanker... Many things you will learn from this book.
Aaand, when it comes to the murderer... once again I was surprised! Over halfway through the book, I started to think that one of them could be the one who was the murderer, but I was wrong, again.. Usually you get the idea that one person is the guilty one and you're right in the end, but Rowling? Nooo... she get you to think that that person sounds more and more guilty and then... Nope! Wrong person! After reading all three I still haven't figured the right person out, at all!

My dad have complained a little bit about her descriptions of buildings and such (and the way she write is difficult to understand), but I haven't really thought about it at all to be honest. The one thing I would "complain" (hardly a complain at all) about is the crossover between Robin and Strike. First you read about Strike and then, the next sentence is about Robin and then suddenly it's Strike (or the other way around). It's a bit confusing, but after reading some chapters I get used to it though.

Anyway, I love this series and I just saw that she is currently writing a fourth book! Yey! And I also found out (probably bit late to the party) that this series is going be adapted into a tv-series on BBC One! Hope it will come on the telly here in Norway as well!

Winter - Marissa Meyer

So that was fast! Been reading one book for 2 month and now I finished this one in only a few days! Anyways... Here's my thoughts about this wonderful book!

Winter by Marissa Meyer is the last book in this amazing saga called The Lunar Chronicles. I was lucky I didn't have to wait as long as the others to read this book since I found out about this last year. I know I might have said this with the other books (and maybe continue to say it in the future), but if you haven't read any of these books then you might miss out on an amazing (and awesome) story about disney princesses and characters in a whole different setting and universe!

Winter is admired for her grace, kindness and beauty, despite the scars on her face. She's said to be even more breath taking than her stepmother, Queen Levana...

When Winter develops feelings for the handsome palace guard Jacin, she fears the evil Queen will crush their romance before it has a chance to begin.

My Thoughts:

I just love this saga and am so happy to find out about these books! It's like reading about the good old disney characters you've grown up with but with a twist.

In this book you get to find out about Winter and the things she's been through and Cinder, Scarlet and Cress are obviously a part of this book as well. The same way as in the other books. 

In the previous book, it ended with them planning on taking over Luna and take the Queen (if I remember correctly). In this last book, they go to war and tries to get as many people of Luna over on their side to defeat the Queen and her army. The planning, the war and everything had me so hooked I could barely put the book down! Especially when I came to the part when they went to war against the evil Queen and her people! I was raging at the Queen and felt sorry about Winter and just..just..all these emotion reading about the characters and what they were doing and all the trouble they went through just to do the right things. And even had tears in my eyes at some point when the Lunars agreed to help the lost princess to get her crown back. I always get tears in my eyes when it comes to people trusting someone and wants to help..(happened on Arrow too, when Diggle said he wanted to help Queen..). I just can't help it...

So anyway. The story is amazing and I have no idea what more to say other than that I just love the whole setting and wasn't disappointed about the ending (although it would have been nice to read about the things that happened next).. It's a reason why I say that I'm writing my thoughts and not a review :P

One thing for sure and that is that this is not the last time I'll be reading these books! It was such an amazing story from the first book to the last one.

Books, books and books...

So...I got me some new books today...again....blaming my dad for that! He's been talking about the new Cormoran Strike book, Career of Evil, for a while and been waiting for me to buy the book so he could start reading his on his kindle. So today I finally bought a copy (and two more books). I have been thinking about buying it for a while, but I haven't found the "right format" (I try to have the same height on the series...I know...that's just me :P), so I've waited and waited, but in the end I bought the book. And am actually going to read it now after I finish writing this..

So! Over to the three books I bought today!

Edge of Eternity - Ken Follett

And here (at last) is my thoughts about the book that took me over 2 month to finish!

Edge of Eternity is the last book in the The century trilogy by Ken Follett. In this last book, you will read about the Berlin Wall, Civil Rights movement and more. If you haven't read any of them, then you should!

My Thoughts:

After using over 2 month to read this book, I'm actually a bit sad to leave this story. I gotten to know many characters and followed the five families through their ups and downs. 3 books and so many people I've read about and gotten to know and now it's over.

The characters in this book are the children of the ones from the last book. I have to admit that I got confused now and then, like the last time, over which belonged to whom. But in the end, I managed to keep up. Anyway. Edge of Eternity was different from the others and people have said that it's not as good as the other two. In my opinion, I actually liked this one as well as the others, but in a different way and was also nice reading about the old characters and what had happened to them. It was also sad to read about their death after "knowing" them since the first book.

In this book you get to feel what it was like to live through the Civil Rights movement, going through different presidents and the Berlin Wall where one of the families children in East Germany escapes over to West Germany for a better life. The things the characters went through for their countries and all the dangers they got themselves into to make things possible and right. Some of it was heartbreaking other triumphant. And I felt with every single one of the people and I did have tears in my eyes more than once. Even at the end of this book! I smiled, got annoyed, scared for their life, sad... just a lot of emotion from the beginning to the end. And that's all I have to say about that! *Forrest Gump voice*

I did learn some things from this trilogy. Though, most of it is fiction, there's real historical things in there that actually happened and, to be honest, I feel like I've learned more about the history of reading this trilogy than in history class!

New books..again and some thoughts

Hello! Yes, I got me some new books! Again...
That's have it goes when my mom need something at the bookstore...I can't help it :P

Oh well.. At least now I got an excuse to write here though. :)

Only three books this time so it wasn't that many :P

In other news.
I thought I could have a page over the books that's sequels or in a series og trilogies. Which means that I'm going to write about the first book on the main page like I always do and if there's a sequel or series then I will put them in a 'page'. Maybe I'll make a new page for each series/trilogies. So for you who don't want any spoilers you're safe to scroll down my blog :P Not I really write that much spoilers though.. so yeah. That's what I'm going to do after I'm finished here.

Aaaand when it comes to Edge of Eternity, I'm almost finished with it! FINALLY! Think I got around 100 pages or something left so the review will come any day now! Taken me ages to get through that book! 2 month! In case you're wondering; no, it's not boring, it's just that I haven't had that much time to read lately and don't feel like reading while my bf staying over for almost a week. But for the last two(ish) weeks I've read at least one chapter every night, so that helps:P

And that was everything I wanted to share today.
Hopefully, the next time i write here then it will be Edge of Eternity!

I've been thinking for a while about adding a list over all my books and now I've finally done it! When it comes to Edge of Eternity...I'm STILL reading it, BUT! It's not that much left though.. only 342ish pages..

Hopefully I will finish it soon so I can move over to the last book in The Lunar Chronicles series, Winter.

One last thing: Last year (in December (?)) I told you I had gotten myself a youtube channel where I could talk about books and stuff, but after 2 uploaded videoes (and a few non-edited, non-published ones) I have decided that I'm not going to make or upload any more videoes. At least for now. I do want to continue, but right now I want to focus on this blog instead :)

Hello! It's been a while but nothing much have happened since last time. I'm still reading Edge of Eternity and hopefully I will finish it soon! I know...It takes some time to finish it and I don't have a really good excuse other than I haven't been in a reading mood or had that much time lately (blaming my bf for staying a week at a time). At least I'm over halfway in the book and I still enjoy reading it. So far, so good!
