Booksies and sales!

Last week I ended up ordering 6 books (one being a pre-order) and got one of the books this week. I wanted to wait with the "bookhaul post" till I got them all. After I bought three more books today (two of them was the rest of the Wool/Silo trilogy), I thought that I could make a post now and then write another one when I get the rest :)

So this is part 1 of the bookhaul I guess :P

This is how it goes when there's online sales. And also how it goes when working the next day I finish reading the first book in a series/trilogy...Oh well!

Wool - Hugh Howey

Wool is the first book in the Silo/Wool trilogy by Hugh Howey. It's also the first book that I have read from this author. It kind of reminds me of The 100 with the whole post-apocalypse were the air is toxic but these people lives in a underground silo on earth instead of space. So if you like The 100 then this might be a book for you! I enjoyed this book so much that I bought the last two books in this trilogy at work today! :P

The Blurb:
In a ruined and hostile landscape, in a future few have been unlucky enough to survive, a community exist in a giant underground silo.

Inside, men and women live an enclosed life full og rules and regulations.
But some people choose not to conform.
These are the people who dare to hope and dream.
These are the dangerous ones.
Jules is one of these people.
She may well be the last.


My Thoughts:
I finally finished it! The beginning was bit slow, but when I started reading it again after finishing Always With Love, I could barely put it down! When I first started on this book, all I could think about was the beginning(?) of the second season of The 100 with the new people that shows up out of nowhere. Not the grounders, but the others. (if you have seen it, you'll know :P)

Apart from reminding me of that tv-show, I really liked this a lot and am glad I bought it! The beginning might be slow, but the rest was a thrilling, suspenseful read. The characters got their own personalities and it is easy to get to "know" them. And, of course, there's one character that you just hate :P Never fails with these kind of books! The silo seems like an exhausting place to live with all the stairs you have to go to just to get to a level. If you live on level 1 and have to get down to level 100, you have to walk all those stairs to get there which will take you 2-3. And then you'll have to go back up again... so yeah.. sounds exhausting! Of course they stay over night to rest on different levels when going up or down, but still...

Without saying too much about the story, I can also say that a tiny part of it kind of reminds me about Divergent. Not sure how to explain that but, it's about the jobs and the kids shadowing  older people and have to decide if this is the place they want to stay and work. Like, if you're smart, you end up working on the IT level, if you're good with machines and fixing things, like the main character, you become a mechanic and so on. If that made any sense...

Other than reminding me of tv-shows/books, I was really into this book. I had a huge grin on my face and got excited when things happened, and also got angry, sad and all the different emotions you get reading books like these.

And as always, I'm not sure what more to say other than it was a thrill read and I can't wait to read the next book in this trilogy!

Facebook pages and some update!

Well hello there! Long time no updates! Sorry about that...Hopefully there will be a review on Always with love by Giovanna Fletcher very soon! It's been taking me a while to finish it because of work and Sim city (that has been taken over my life these past couple of weeks). I thought I would finish it while I was at the cabin for almost two weeks or earlier, but that did not happen. So apologies for that :P

Late last night I made a Facebook page for this blog! I also made another Facebook page for my drawings :) I wanted to do make these pages so there would be easier for those interested to follow my daily drawings and new blog entries. Check it out and maybe like one or both the pages?

Currently reading
Alway with love is really sweet so far :) There's been smiles, tears in my eyes and sadness during this book. I don't want to say too much about it because I want to share my thoughts with you on the review :P So that's all you get from me atm ;)

For those who haven't read Billy and me, you probably shouldn't read the review (unless you don't want to read it, then you'll be fine) because this is the sequel. I think I've made a review on it a while back if you want to know more about it :)

Aaand it's here!

Always With Love by Giovanna Fletcher is finally here! So looking forward to read about Billy and Sophie again!

To be honest, I really want to start on this one and take a break with the other book that I'm currently reading. I mean.. I haven't got that far anyway with it soo...
I haven't decided yet, so I guess we'll see which review I will make next time ;) I have a feeling it might be this one! Not very often I take a break from one book and start on another, but this time it might happen...

And that was all for today folks! If you're into Sophie Kinsella, Paige Toon, Ali McNamara etc. then you should read Giovanna Fletcher's books too. Just saying ;)

Bookhaul and update

I got me some new books...again! They just keep coming and I can't help it!

I guess that's how it goes when I work in a bookstore... aaaand also earning my own money again...

Anyways, I now got 6 new books in my shelf! I'm also waiting for the newest book by Giovanna Fletcher called Always with love to arrive. So looking forward to read it! It's the sequel to her debut novel called Billy and me and I completely adored that book and her little short christmas story Christmas with Billy and me ^^

Update on Currently Reading:
I am still reading Wool by Hugh Howey. So far so good even though I haven't read that much! :) It kind of reminds me of the place Clarke and the others ends up in season 2 of The 100 really. And the world is toxic so the people in this story can't go outside without dying. That too is similar to The 100. It does say that it's the new Hunger Games or something, so we'll see if they're right :P

Before I Go To Sleep - S. J. Watson

Before I go to sleep is S. J. Watson's debut novel and the second book I've read from this author. Second life was the other one which I've also written a review on. I'm glad I read this as well, because I could not simply put it down without having a reason...

My Thoughts:
Wow...what a novel! I was hooked from the start! Last night I even ended up reading till 4.30 in the morning because there was a lot of things that suddenly happened. After I noticed light coming through the window I knew I had to stop and try to sleep :P So yeah... this was a book that I just couldn't put down without having a reason.

I'm gonna try and not spoil the whole book, but I think I can say a few things that is not really spoilers. Christine got amnesia. She only remember the things that has happened during the day, but when she falls asleep she forgets everything. So when she wakes up, she doesn't remember anything that have happened the day before or her past. Even her husband, who lies right next to her in bed every morning when she wakes up. The same questions every day, forgotten the next morning, until a doctor gives her a journal. She starts to write down most of the things that has happened during the day, so she can read it when she wakes up. The memories that comes and goes, the feelings of something bad that has happened. And that's what this whole book is about. Her journal, the things she has written, things that she has started to remember but fades as quick as they have come and occasionally comes back. And I can say that some things might not be true.

I liked the ending, although I wish the author had written some more! It was a thrill read and I'm glad that Second life made me wanting to read more from S. J Watson! There's also a film version of it that came out in 2014 if you don't want to read it :P I think I might gonna watch it one day and see if it is as good as the book ;)
