Neverwhere - Neil Gaiman

I've finally finished Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman! There's been loads of new authors that I've been checking out lately (I've noticed) and Neverwhere is one of them. I liked it and I think I will continue to check out more of his books :)

The Blurb:
Under the streets of London...

It's a place most people could never even dream of.
A city of monsters and saints, murderers and angels, knights in armour and pale girls in black velvet. This is the city of the people who have fallen between the cracks.

Richard Mayhew, a young businessman, is going to find out more than enough about this other London. A single act of kindness catapults him out of his workday existence and into a world that is at once eerily familiar and utterly bizzare.
And strange destiny awaits him down here,
beneath his native city: neverwhere.

My Thoughts:
Even though I used so many weeks to read this book, I really enjoyed it. Like I said in one of the other blog post; it was a nice change from The Twistrose Key because it was kinda the same but completely different all the same. In this book, they're under London in the sewers and walking around old places that used to be a part of London but are no longer there. That have fallen between the cracks. And there was no animals in this apart from rats. But some of the people in this book was described like different kinds of animals. Such as wolves and foxes and so on...

I'm not sure what to say about this book since it took me so long to finish it. And I also don't want to spoil anything either. But I can say that I liked the characters and got shocked when some (not so good) truths came out :P And when it comes to the ending, I kinda knew or had the feeling that Richard was going to do the thing he did... if that makes any sense... oh well. And that's unfortunately all I can say about Neverwhere. I know it's not much, but this is not supposed to be me summarizing the whole book. These are just my thoughts and that's what I've been doing all along :P

One of the reasons it took me this long is because 1) There's been stuff to do lately and I haven't had the time to read other than late at night, 2) I haven't felt relaxed enough to read during the day and 3) I started to feel tired after few pages in most of the time so I ended up almost falling asleep while reading it (I did also manage to fall asleep while reading). Which sounds bad but I did... Doesn't mean it was boring! I did enjoy Neverwhere! You know... sometimes there are books that you just can't put down and you end up staying up all night just to finish it. And then there are books that you enjoy, but after a few pages you struggle to stay awake and you try your best to continue but fails. And the latter was this book. I still enjoyed it though even though it made me sleepy!!!

That's all folks! A weird review, but hey! Can't be perfect all the time, ey? ;)

Just turned 24 and still reading the same book...

Hello! :) Thought I could pop in to give you some update! I told you I would try and finish the book by the end of this week (or last week)..well... I'm still reading it, but I don't have that much left though! :P

I might not finish it this week since I've been invited to a birthday party tomorrow and will stay at my grandmother's till Sunday. And today is my birthday so I won't be able to read that much so for the next couple of days I have to read before bed (Which I've done every day this past weeks since that's the only time I feel like I can relax atm..). Hopefully, I will give you a review on Neverwhere next week.

For now, I hope you'll have a wonderful weekend and I will write you, (hopefully) in a few days, my review!

Love from the birthday girl x

(Just had to add Harry Judd eating a cake..you know...uhm...just because it's my birthday...so yeah...)

New books and some update!

Long time, no see! Sorry about that... I haven't had the time to read much lately...or I have had time, but I've been looking after my friend's dogs and it wasn't that easy to feel relaxed enough to sit down and read my book. And that's my excuse this time...Oh! I also got a job now! In a bookstore! Yey! It's not much though, only 1 weekday and 1 Saturday every 3 weeks and some more during summer and when they need someone to take a shift. But it's something! :D

So, moving on to my new books, ey?
Today my bf and I went to this new geek store called Outland that opened last month and they had loads of geeky things and books there so I ended up buying 3 books (they were a bit cheap so I thought, why not?) and Castiel Pop! Funko thingy (now I got Destiel on my shelf! X) also bought s. 10 of spn too in a different store...).

Anyways... here's my latest collection of booksies!

Nevermore (Nr. 1, Supernatural) by Keith R.A. DeCandido
Wool (Nr. 1, Silo (or Wool?)) by Hugh Howey
Gone (Nr 1, Gone) by Michael Grant

Have wanted to check out the Supernatural series and found some of them at Outland so I decided to buy the first one to see how it was! So excited to read it!
So these were the new books for now :)

As for the one I'm reading now, Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman, I really like it so far even thought I haven't read that much. It was a nice change from The Twistrose Key because it's kinda the same, but more "grown up" and the "animals" are more or less humans in this one. Hopefully I will finish it soon and give you a review sometime this week or next week!

And that was all for now!
Bye x
