The Evolution of Mara Dyer - Michelle Hodkin (#2 Mara Dyer)
Finally got to read the two final books in the Mara Dyer trilogy! Yey! That took me a while. Think I read the first one early 2016 or late 2015 and have had the other two in the bookshelf since last summer or something.
The Blurb:
Mara Dyer knows she isn't crazy. She knows she can kill with her mind, and that her boyfriend, Noah, can heal with his. Mara also knows that somehow, her ex, Jude, is not a hallucination. He is alive.
Unfortunately, convincing her family and doctors that she's not crazy isn't easy. The only person who actually believes her is Noah. But being with Noah is dangerous and Mara is in constant fear that she might hurt him. She needs to learn how to control her power, and fast! Together, Mara and Noah must try and figure out how Jude survived the asylum collapse, and how he knows so much about her strange ability... before anyone else ends up dead.
My Thoughts:
So... like I said earlier, it's been a while since I read The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer so jumping back into this story was not that easy. But luckily, I started to remember more and more of what happened in the first book so it wasn't that hard to catch up. Unfortunately, I read these last books round a month ago so it won't be easy to write this review or the next (The Retribution of Mara Dyer), but I will try my best! And also not to write something that actually happened in the other book..
So, Mara wakes up in the hospital after blacking out. (Can't remember much of how the first book ended only that she saw Jude.) Her parents are worried (as usual) and decides to take her to a rehab. Not to spoil to much, I will say that things starts to happen and she and Noah tries to figure out what to do with Jude, who is supposed to be dead. We also get to know some of the people at this facility and there's also a familiar character who has also ended up at the same place as Mara. (I don't mean Jude.. another familiar face). Mara also tries to figure out more about her powers and the place she has ended up in might help her to get to know more about them..?. Trying my best here not to spoil much..aaah! Anyway. Things are happening in this book and big things getting revealed.
I think this trilogy gets better and better (even though I don't remember much about the first as I've said earlier). I got so into the story that I jumped into The Retribution of Mara Dyer right after finishing this book.
And talking about The Retribution of Mara Dyer... let's wrap this review up and go straight to write the next review that is, in fact, The Retribution of Mara Dyer because I haven't had the time nor energy to write anything in December.
See you soon
Bye! xx
