Fade - Lisa McMann (Dream Catcher #2)
Fade is the second book in the Dream Catcher/Wake Trilogy by Lisa McMann. I really enjoyed the first one so I was excited to continue the journey of Janie Hannagan. I did a review on Wake on the "main page" if you haven't already read it :)
The Blurb:
Some nightmares never ends.
For Janie and Cabel, real life is getting tougher than the dreams. They're just trying to carve out a little (secret) time togheter, but no such luck.
Disturbing things are happening at Fieldridge High, yet nobody's talking. When Janie taps into a classmate's violent nightmares, the case finally breaks open - but nothing goes as planned. Not even close. Janie's in way over her head, and Cabe's shocking behavior has grave consequences for them both.
Worse yet, Janie learns the truth about herself and her ability - and it's bleak. Seriously, brutally bleak. Not only is her fate as a dream catcher sealed, but what's to come is way darker than she'd even feared...
My Thoughts:
There was a little bit more action in this book. After I finished reviewing the first book and started reading the second, I started to think that this story reminds me a little about The Body Finder series. Not much, but some part of it. Like the way Janie started working with the cops to find the guilty people through her ability. The same thing happens in The Body Finder too. But other than that, they are different. Obviously.
So this book. I really enjoyed this too and to get to know how Janie's ability is affecting her was not what I expected. I think. I guess I didn't think so much about it other than that it must be tiring having this ability. Getting sucked into peoples dreams and nightmare and have to get away before it gets worse. Especially with the nightmares. Anyways. You get to know more about her ability and the stuff that comes with it. Mind you, these things do have a bad effect on her health and life. I won't say anything in case you want to read this trilogy! But I can say that there's one character that comes back in this book in some form. The character is also the reason how Janie gets to know a lot more of her ability as a dream catcher.
All in all. I enjoyed this as much as I did with the other and I'm looking forward to read the last one called Gone. I will make a new page for that one as well as I did with this so there won't be any "spoilers" on the "main page":)
